First/Aid Paramedic Facility

Off Road Rescue, a professional team of qualified paramedics under the experienced command of Alan Reid will be providing the first aid, search and rescue and paramedic services both on and off the course this year.

Their paramedic base will be at the Start/Finish field in the cricket club house. They can be consulted if you have any medical problems on your return from each stage for at least 2 - 3 hours after the finish of each stage. They will be have at least five 4x4 vehicles on the long stages to attend to any mishaps or accidents/injuries which may occur. During the Prologue, they will have 2 vehicles on the route in strategic areas, and a base at the start/finish. Ambulances will be sourced from the nearest Netcare 911 centre or ER 24 base to meet the rescue vehicle and transport the injured person to hospital if required.

You will have emergency contact numbers for this service pre-printed on your race number.

Massage Facility

A massage facility will be provided at the sports hall in a room opposite the registration hall in the Bambanani Sports Centre between 11h00 and 20h00 each day excluding the final day's stage. The usual team of therapist will be on hand to ease the aches and pains. Jessica is the contact person. Contact her on dsportsandhealth{at}gmail{dot}com or on 076 680 6204

Shower Facility

The sports hall has shower facilities available to riders for all stages. This will be particularly useful for riders who are staying some distance out of Sabie, saving them the time and traveling to and fro having to return later in the afternoon for the stage briefing and prize giving.

Bike Wash Facility

There will be a controlled bike wash next to the main finish area. The facility will be open from 10h00 until 16h00 daily for all stages. Riders will receive a token and may only retrieve their bikes when they hand back the token.

Important Note

  1. For bike security it is recommended that riders wait for their bikes to be washed, and not leave them to be collected later.
  2. Riders are requested not to leave accessories of value on the bike while it is being washed ie, computers, heart rate monitors, GPS receivers, pumps, saddlebags etc.
  3. Whilst the utmost care will be taken, The Sabie Experience, race organisers, sponsors, landowners, helpers, etc. will not be held responsible for any losses or damage to any bicycles, accessories etc. while bikes are being washed or at the bike wash facility.
